'Rooftoppers' is a masterpiece as it shows a key message about pursuing your dreams and never ignoring a 'possible'. It was the winner of the Blue Peter Book Award, Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and was shortlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal, Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and the UKLA Children's Book Award.
It follows the story of a curious, young girl named Sophie. She is an orphan who luckily survived a shipwreck at the age of one! Floating in a case, Sophie was wrapped in the music of Beethoven. As she is adopted by Charles, they immigrate to Paris, France to try and find her mother, Viveniena. She befriends a 'rooftopper' (a person who lives on the roofs) named Matteo and searches the land for her mother.
I would rate it ***** (out of 5) because it is really enjoyable. It is my 4th favourite book.

Book Review: Cogheart by Peter Bunzl by Alex S Yr6
This brilliantly written book is one of my personal favourites and was shortlisted for numerous awards, such as: Waterstones Book Prize 2017, Haringey Children's Book Award 2017 and much, much more. It was also the winner of Dudley Teen Book award and Sefton Super Reads Award 2017.
It follows the journey of young, red-haired Lily on the epic quest to find and save her father (John Hartman). She is joined by another young boy named Robert, who is the son of the town's horologist. Malkin (a fox 'mechanimal' and her best friend) helps Lily on her journey as a sidekick. they are hiding from Mr Roach and Mr Mould (who have mirrored centered eyes instead of pupils). She seeks help from Anna (a news reporter) and Professor Silverfish. As Roach and Mould search the land for her, another villain lurks in the shadows without being noticed. Yet they are after the Cogheart, but where is it?
This gripping adventure shows how confident children can be, and that the ones you hold dearly can ruin your life. Set in Victorian times, it is great for readers who most enjoy action and seek a nice crime story. Suitable for children, I would rate it ***** (out of 5) because it has become one of my favourite books.

'Cogheart' is the type of book that no matter how hard you try to not think about it the nail-biting adventures of Lily and Robert slip straight back into your mind! Lily's life was never the best, but she does not know the half of the suffering her life has to offer. Her mom tragically died in a secretly-planned crash in a act of revenge by the main protagonists' (Lily and Robert) arch enemies. A lot of the characters' backstories link together in unpredictable ways, like Lily's dad, John, and Professor Silverfish. Some hints to the further parts of the story go back as early as the prologue! I enjoyed that at the beginning: two stories are happening at the same time and it switches the character it follows between chapters. I enjoyed that the ending was still full of action and not rushed.
I would recommend this book to people who enjoy action and adventure stories.
